Mboho Ima Iban was formed by a group of professional Akwa Ibom women in Northern California in 2012 out of love for charity. Through the years, the group has been working on several projects to benefit vulnerable communities, empower women and health of families. Mboho Ima Iban is a non-profit organization. We share the same belief and have pledged to make positive contributions to benefit our communities, and empower women and families to achieve self-sufficiency. We believe that deficiency or denial of fundamental needs of life is injustice to mankind.
In 2017, 2018 and 2019 the Mboho women took mission trips to Nigeria where we have adopted and renovated a hospital, held clinics, and treated hundreds of patients. It is our way of giving back to the community that helped raise us.
